Get a Taste of the Good Life with an Aireloom Mattress
To help take some of the confusion out of buying a new mattress, Cheap Mattress Reviews was founded to provide you with consumer reviews of all the leading mattresses available today.
Aireloom is a brand of mattress that has been around for about 60 years, but hasn’t had the coverage of some of the more popular names perhaps because their products have traditionally been the domain of the rich and famous. The company brags that when Ronald Reagan entered the White House he demanded an Aireloom mattress to be placed in every room!
Well, down the years you didn’t have to be a President to use an Aireloom but it certainly was the most exclusive furniture and bedding stores that stocked their products. Since 2004 the company has been owned by E. S. Kluft & Company of Southern California and the focus is still on making hand-made luxury mattresses from the best workmanship available and using the best materials on the market.
Aireloom argues that even the highest quality standard pillow-top and euro-top mattresses from other manufacturers have all been made the same way for the last decade, yet they set themselves apart in that they have a US patent for mattress design, one of 4 that they have received down the years. In the past the patents related to things like their Chiropractic Lumbar Body Mattress and Edge Support systems.
The current patent relates to the chamber design inside the mattress; in conventional mattresses it is usually just filled with air (acting like a drum) but Aireloom fill it with natural upholstery, extending the comfort and durability of the mattress, as well as enhancing the motion transfer containment.
Let’s take a closer look at the range of Aireloom mattresses available. There are 8 basic collections, starting with the original Synchronized Support model. This uses the patented “fill chamber” design on top of a pocket-spring “honeycomb” arrangement of inner-coils that includes a density of 882 coils in a Queen size, providing great support. The comfort levels are created using a range of Talalay latex and memory foams, both natural and man-made materials. It uses sustainable forest lumber in its foundation and a Reflex premium bio-foam perimeter encasement for edge support, both features adding to the longevity of the mattress. The fabrics used in the tufted style finish include jacquard damasks. This gives you an idea of the type of design that delivers the robustness, comfort and support that you can expect from an Aireloom mattress.
As we go through the ranges we see the Natural Luxe Top, designed to be an extra luxurious pillow-top style model, the new Streamline Luxury collection, the Hybrid Cotton and Hybrid Bamboo ranges, the Luxury Latex range, the Handcrafted and the Halstead ranges. Most of these ranges will use the similar basic components of the original model described above, with some variations and emphasis on certain elements as their names suggest. There is also the Royal Aireloom mattress, for example, which uses Joma wool in the mattress top, providing great temperature regulation and airflow.
All these mattresses come with a minimum 10 year non-prorated warranty, to give you the peace of mind you need from what is a sizeable investment. These mattresses are the type you see in Macy’s priced at $3000 – $5000 for a Queen set.
When you read Aireloom mattress reviews – as you’re sure to do if you are considering a serious purchase like this – you will see that they are regularly praised for their durability and long-lasting comfort. They can last up to 20 years, so when you spread the investment of a few thousand dollars out over 5 or 6 thousand nights it doesn’t seem so pricey!
As always with reviews the “nay-sayers” are louder then the “ayes”! So you will certainly read some Aireloom mattress complaints too. Many of these center on the price and value for money element of the mattress; others report premature sagging, which is a little surprising considering the manufacturer claims. One wonders whether all the claims from the manufacturer about serving Presidents and movie stars can sometimes backfire and people who buy and sleep on these mattresses end up being disappointed that they don’t wake up feeling like a movie star at all!
