A Relyon Mattress – the ‘Best Bed in the World’?
To help take some of the confusion out of buying a new mattress, Cheap Mattress Reviews was founded to provide you with consumer reviews of all the leading mattresses available today.
Here we focus on Relyon – the company, their range and what you can expect from a Relyon mattress if you select one for your home. Do they stand up to their claim of making “the best beds in the world” as I seem to have heard that before somewhere?
Relyon are a UK company that started life as a wool merchant way back in 1858, migrating slowly over to making beds in the 20th century. They are therefore very established and anything you buy from them will come from a company with the pedigree of decades of quality mattress-making, using the finest materials, methods and craftsmen of any manufacturer in the UK.
Having been one of the leading names for such a long time, it should be no surprise that the lynch-pins of their range have traditionally been the innerspring mattresses, which are now embodied in their Heritage and Classic Collections. In the Heritage collection alone there are 8 different mattress styles, so you can see that the choice with Relyon is extensive.
The flagship mattress in the Heritage range is called the Emperor and we will take a quick look at it here to give you an idea of the upper reaches of Relyon’s range. The Emperor includes a dual layer of center-tied pocket springs and hand-stitching on the pocketed upholstery, which is all made of natural fibers such as wool, cotton and cashmere. There is a matching hand-made pocketed divan skirt. The mattress is made in all the standard sizes you would expect, you can choose your fabric finishes and colors and accessories like headboards can be added too. All these features come with a heavy price tag – several thousand dollars upwards in fact – but other Relyon mattresses in the Heritage and Classic ranges are available a lot cheaper than this.
Relyon do also use more modern mattress materials like memory foam and latex foam, featured in their 6th Sense, Continental Memory and Senses Latex collections. The 6th Sense range, for example, uses high density memory foam in the toppers for a luxurious feel and uses natural cotton fibers for its finishes; the Continental range combines nested pocket springs for support in the body with memory foam on top to provide body-conforming comfort and breathe-ability to the mattress set.
Checking a few of the online Relyon mattress review sites will give you an idea of the regard that these products are held in. As always, choose review sites that are truly independent and offer analysis of many brands of mattress. You will see that Relyon ones are expertly hand-made and are designed to last the distance and don’t be put off by the high price of their signature Heritage mattresses. There will be something for most budgets in the Relyon range, especially if you are buying online, where you can easily find greatly discounted sale prices of the older lines in the range. The normal rules apply – choose a reputable online retailer that offers well-established and secure ordering, payment and delivery processes.
